5 Ways to stay organized

Staying organized is a never-ending task, especially when you have a lot on your plate. Everything and everywhere seems so disorganised and it makes your work flow and creativity suffer. The more you try staying organised, the more you feel like you’re losing your mind.
So what exactly can help with settling this unnecessary anxiety? Well, you need an organizational battle plan, and one that’s easy to follow. You can’t rely on complex systems and clever tips during a time like this; you need something that’s quick, efficient, and easy to do even as you’re juggling a bunch of different balls in the air.

As you’re pulled in a hundred different directions, try out these simple tricks and tips that will not only keep you on track and feeling on top of your busy schedule, but are easy to make a part of your regular routine. Follow these tips and you just might be able to beat deadlines, stay sane and be orgainsed. Here are five tips on how to stay organized when your schedule is crazy busy.

1. Have a To-Do list
Whether it’s in your planner or on a piece of scrap paper, before you start your day, create a detailed to-do list of everything you need to accomplish. And remember to put a timeline to every task.

2. Group and Prioritise your tasks.
Put the important activities above on your list and group them according to how related they are to one another. This helps keep you in the zone of whatever activity is being done and would be done next.


3. Do not procrastinate
You know the feeling when there are lots of things to be done and all your mind keeps projecting is ‘I’ll do it later’. Most times when you’re ready to do it, there are already more tasks lining up for your attention. So do what you have to at the right time to avoid rushing.


4. Spilt really tedious tasks.
There are certain tasks that always have babies, these are the tasks most of us dread the most because it seems like after you’ve done 3 out of 7 parts, you’ve not made any progress. What I advice is this, break these tasks into bits as this would avoid the overwhelming feeling.

5. Take breaks.
I know I’ve been saying don’t procrastinate, do what you have to, break tasks and attend to them. But you also need to calm down and relax because sometimes, you’re not disorganised physically but mentally. While performing a task, take short breaks like 5 to 10 minutes. It helps a lot.
