The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, has encouraged Nigerians to patronise locally produced goods and services. He said this when the organising committee of the Kebbi Cultural Day paid him a courtesy visit.
The Emir had noticed that Nigerians preferred foreign goods to locally produced goods which actively contributes to the loss of our culturally revered material goods which used to be highly competetive in the global market.
He also commended the efforts of the committee towards the preservation of their cultural heritage.
The Emir mentioned that Nigerians prefer foreign goods. Why? Quality? Labels? Show off? It is important for us to buy our locally produced goods to grow the Nigerian economy.
