OAS Helicopters:
OAS Helicopters is an indigenous aviation company, with Captain Evarest Nnaji as it executive director, OAS Helicopters started out rendering ad-hoc charter flights for VIPs and specialized service providers in Nigeria. Between 2006 and 2013, with main focus of onshore operations where we have flown for state governors, construction companies, breweries and campaign organizations. We have also supported National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in locating crash sites and distribution of relief materials to flood disaster areas. We rendered services for Medical Emergency outfits; hospitals and emergency service companies in Nigeria. From the start of business to the end of December 2014, OAS flew over 12,400 hours on onshore ad-hoc, VIP and specialized helicopter operations in Nigeria. We have also undertaken Banner Tow flights, the size of three-quarter of a football field, for campaign organizations in Nigeria. During the period, we undertook numerous types of geographical survey with specialized helicopter mounted cameras/equipment that required STCs around the country. Due to extensive specialized operations undertaken, OAS is the only civil helicopter operator in Nigeria with Federal government permits to operate and land helicopters at our nation’s capital city of Abuja.
On full preparedness to launch into Nigeria oil and gas aviation, we entered into Technical Partnership with Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) in 2013. Since then, ExxonMobil Nigeria, Total Nigeria, Shell Nigeria and NNPC/NAPIMS have at different times, on Technical Audit, visited Abu Dhabi to evaluate OAS/ADA relationship, and at all times the audits came out very satisfactory; and ADA has since April 2017 been in operations with OAS in Nigeria servicing oil and gas production campaigns.
