SME100Africa and Zanzibar start up association provides opportunities for Tanzania Youth to Win $1,000,000 through the Entrepreneurship World Cup

International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August, bringing youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.

SME100Africa a social enterprise focused on youth entrepreneurship, the organizer of Entrepreneurship World Cup Tanzania has partnered with startup Zanzibar to enable Tanzanian youths many of which are entrepreneurs have an opportunity to join the top 100 Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) finalists for a share of US$1 million in prizes, US$10 million in in-kind support, and access to global networks. Top candidates from the global top 100 finalists will be fully sponsored to travel and pitch on stage in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia before judges, investors, partners, and industry experts.

Mr Charles Odii, the founder of SME100Africa Speaking at a press conference to launch the entrepreneurship World Cup in Tanzania highlighted the eligibility for Tanzanian youths to apply

  • There is no entry fee
  • Applicant(s) must be legally registered or planning to register in their country of residence – Tanzania
  • Applicant(s) must not be less than seven (7) years old as of November 2022.
  • Team members must be 18 years old, except if applying to the idea stage category.
  • Applications must be entered on platform.entrepreneurshipworldcup.com

Mr Ikram Soragha – CEO of Zanzibar Startup Association explained applicants will be evaluated based on the following 4 criteria: Product, Potential, Predictability and people.

The Entrepreneurship World Cup is a pitch competition that provides global exposure to over 400,000 entrepreneurs from 200 countries. the Entrepreneurship World Cup is also our opportunity to represent the diversity, capability, and scale of Tanzanian entrepreneurs.
